Angenius Current situationOur modern lifestyles are not sustainable: if everybody on this planet lived like a European, it would take 3 planets earth to meet our needs. The challenge is, to find solutions in order to reduce our impact by two-third, without sacrificing people’s quality of life.The goalAngenius is a research institute. The goal is to promote, develop and assist in implementing sustainable lifestyles. We work with researchers, business and organizational prominent figures, scientists and experts.Angenius wishes to develop innovative and attractive concepts and conclusions for sustainability. It uses scientific analysis, concrete projects and best practiced examples. Its fields of research and implementation are:
The approach is based upon providing open access to knowledge and free engagement in it to stimulate and accelerate the spreading of it. The partners of the network bring their skill into Angenius' pilot projects together with their generalinterest and operational effectiveness (R&D and research-action projects as pilots). Angenius follows its partners to help them put innovative, radical and efficient solutions in to action, within the limit of our planets resources. Angenius also incubates projects: it finances and supports innovative projects. Angenius is a French non-profit organization. It is financed through donations and research grants. Angenius Institute and its network, adheres to strict ethical terms, internally as well as externally. These ethics secures it against any compromising with ideals, which seem to be in opposition with human well being. Moreover it provides a total independence and enables Angenius to be concentrated only on the quality of the projects. Angenius was created in 2002 by Thanh Nghiem with the help of prominent figures from the civil society. The Angenius team works under advises of a Strategic Committee, with the help of an Expert Committee including scientists and experts in sustainable development. See also: approach? and references?
